My academic writing achievements were produced in three waves.

I started my college academic career in 1981 when I entered Brooklyn College part of the City University of New York (CUNY) network of colleges. My major in political science and minor in English provided me with a plethora of opportunities to hone my academic writing skills. It seemed like I was forever turning out papers.

After college and some work experience in the not for profit world, I returned to academic life  in 1986 when I entered Columbia Business School earning my MBA two years later. There I learned a whole other way of writing. We had to do everything in teams. All projects were the result of a group effort where we learned how to take advantage of everyone's skills (and account for shortcomings when necessary.)

The final wave came in 2012 when I entered Stony Brook University to studied teaching the art of writing. That course of study was perhaps the most enjoyable of all given it was purely for me. I entered the program purely from a sense of keen interest in the topic and to learn, learn, learn. That produced some of my best writing some of which I gladly share with you here.
